An important part of Andrew’s design philosophy is to create gardens that will improve as time passes, growing to realise their full potential after completion. Though each of his gardens looks beautiful from the outset, this garden in Crouch End – which was landscaped a few years ago – illustrates how time reveals another dimension to his work.
The planting has developed in character, density and maturity, without stifling the original design. This is the result of careful planning and prudent use of space and materials, and demonstrates that the value of a professionally landscaped garden goes much further than its first season in bloom. Gardens of this quality sustain their structure and freshness, and give increasing satisfaction as the years go by.
